I started
flying my first R/C Model Helicopter, a Concept 30SE with O.S. 28 in 1987. At
that time I was lucky enough to meet some very nice and proficient pilots, who
include Paul Tradelius, Dave Darr and Dave Davison. They helped me begin my career into the terrific hobby of
R/C Model Helicopters. Shortly
following I became one of the 7 original members of the Pittsburgh Area Rotor
Runners (PARR) club. For me it has
never been just about the flying.
While I’m
primarily a sport flyer, who loves a good drag race, I enjoy all facets of R/C
Model Helicopters from the building to the flying and certainly the camaraderie
between fellow pilots. Through
this hobby I have been very fortunate to meet some of the best people in the
world!
I am an active
member of the TEAM JR Heli Division and enjoy instructing and helping
anyone who wants to fly and learn about R/C Model Helicopters. I enjoy working on new products and
have a special interest for the development of “e-powered” model helicopter
flight. As well as attending fun
flys, I instruct and fly often at, "CAMP RONNIE", my private field
close to my house. I frequent the
heli chat rooms and most of the heli Internet billboards under the nicknames of
"SKIRON" and "GMRO".
I am also an active contributing author in Rotory Modeler magazine.
