What you need to connect:
Click on the apple menue, then control panel. Look for PPP it can be labled any of the following: free ppp, mac ppp, config ppp or just ppp. This is what it looks like
ConfigPPP configurations:
- Select either 'Modem Port' or 'Printer Port' depending on
where your modem is connected.
- Select 'None' for Idle Timeout
- Select 'Off' for Echo Interval (some systems may require
a '4' input)
- 'Terminal Window' Not Selected
- 'Hangup on Close' Not Selected
- 'Quiet Mode' selected
- Select 'Config'

In the PPP Server Name box, type 'www.salsgiver.com' and
hit OK. (Please omit quotation marks.)
Note: Set your port speed to 57600 for regular Macs, and
at 115k for the PowerMacs. Set it to 38400 for 14.4k modems
and Macs older than the IIsi ('89).
- Flow Control should be 'CTS & RTS' (DTR), if this doesn't
work try CTS only
- Your modem init should be blank
- Set to tone dial and input your appropriate dial-up number
( 412 820-xxxx or 724 295-xxxx)
- Set your modem connect time-out to 90 seconds
- Select 'connect' script next

Your connect script should look like this:
(where username and password are your login and password)

out your-username (check the carriage return box)

Reboot your Mac. You should select ConfigPPP and 'open', now you may
start any Internet Software ( Netscape, Eudora, FTP, etc.)
To close your connection, select 'Hard Close' in MacPPP.
Do not try to open the PPP connection through your communication
software because it doesn't always work!
